Excerpts from 2012, Thoughts for 2013

Last year I spent some time travelling the roads of Eastern Europe with 2wheels4change (cyclingtheater.blogsport.de), putting on performances in fields, or dusty village squares, in vast paved piazzas in bustling cities, on the banks of rivers or in nameless forests, in squats and social centres and on promenades in ghostly tourist ports in autumn.  When winter neared, preceded and foretold by the rapidly cooling winds of the late year, our group began to dissemble, and scatter again across the continent and beyond.  And now it seems, those who have journeyed to warmer climes continue, while we in the depths of a dark, snowy winter slumber, until the thaw.  Thus are plans in the making for one of many offshoot projects of last year’s cycling circus, a group that would travel from the city of Berlin in the direction of the Balkans, the Middle East and, perhaps, India.  We will begin sometime in the spring months, around April, most likely.  Aspects to the project so far include street performance, language exchange, wild plants and cultivation, supporting communities in struggle and possibly projects with kids such as 2wheels4change did last year.  If this may interest you send an e-mail to la.jacasse@gmail.com.

In the meantime, this blog will be host to excerpts from last year’s travels, as well as the soon to commence journey to Berlin, towards the end of February.  There will be shows and events between here and there..
